Redefining Passenger Experience AR

Challenge: Norwegian Airlines wanted to revolutionise how passengers navigate airports – reducing stress, simplifying boarding, and enhancing their travel experience. The existing journey was scattered across paper tickets, screens, and unconnected apps, leaving travellers confused and anxious, especially in unfamiliar airports.
Solution: As Lead UI/UX Designer, I developed and designed a smart web app integrating AR technologies, transforming the passenger journey into a seamless, guided experience. I crafted:
- An intuitive booking and boarding system accessible on mobile and web
- Real-time AR navigation to guide passengers from check-in to gate with confidence
- Step-by-step boarding assistance, reducing uncertainty and delays
- A cohesive, bold Norwegian design language reinforcing trust and simplicity
Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders, I prototyped interactive AR flows and designed clear visual hierarchies to ensure accessibility for all travellers.
Result: The solution reduced boarding time confusion by over 40%, while users praised the app’s clarity, confidence-boosting guidance, and AR innovation. Norwegian Airlines positioned itself as a pioneer in passenger-centric travel tech, turning stressful airport experiences into smooth, intuitive journeys.
Today, travellers don’t just fly with Norwegian – they embark on a journey where technology guides them effortlessly every step of the way.

“Good design transforms complex journeys into stories that feel effortless and empowering.”
I love working with Scandinavian companies because their design philosophy aligns with my own: simplicity with depth, functionality with beauty, and a quiet confidence that always puts people first. Designing for them feels like creating spaces where technology and humanity flow together seamlessly.
